Here’s another great book to read – for teachers this time. It’s called A swift pure cry and is by Siobhan Dowd. After Shell’s mother dies, her father becomes distant, absent and unemployed, leaving her to care for her younger siblings. A young priest befriends her but she is drawn, not only to his kindness, but also to the charming Declan. When Shell finds herself at the centre of a scandal she grows up in a hurry. A warm, beautiful story.

The mad hacker by Susan Brown is an easy to read mystery story from Ash Grove Junior High. Something very suspicious is going on. Who is it who has been tampering with computer projects and why? Find out by reading this exciting story. For Yr 4-6.

Escape to Eaglehawk by Vashti Farrer is an excellent story to read about convicts and transportation.
